The darts world was rocked yesterday by accusations that one of the sports top stars has been taking performances enhancing supplements, including steroids. The superb conditioning of the sports heavyweight contenders has been under scrutiny for a number of years, with questions asked how they achieve and maintain their Adonis like physiques.

The cheque Fordham received will be tested for traces of growth enhancement supplements.

Doug Chambers, head of the sports anti-doping body, released the following statement “There has been speculation for many years now that the superstars of darts may be consuming illegal substances to improve certain aspects of their game. I can categorically state that a full investigation is now under way. As we all know, a typical superstar’s diet consist of beer, chips, curry and pies. However, reports circulating that Andy Fordham has developed an addiction to steroids is a very serious accusation. Personally, I see where people are coming from. His rippling torso and bulging biceps defy genetics."   JG
