Disabled Woman Fights For Her Right To Pony
A disabled woman is suing her landlord for infringing her human rights by refusing to allow her pet pony to continue living in her one-bedroom flat and assisting with her everyday difficulties.
Pat Nag bought Felicity, the four year old pony, from an online pony purchasing and rental website. “I did think about getting a goat in to help out, but pony’s have much nicer hair… and they let you comb it” confessed Pat.
Mrs Nag has promised animal rights groups that she will finish painting Felicity as soon as she can get down to B&Q.
It is sadly ironic that brave Pat has been confined to a wheelchair ever since her left leg blew off as part of a charity hiking event. At the time of her freak accident, Pat was attempting to conquer some of Holland’s steepest and most dangerous hills.
Pat claims that her reason for keeping Felicity in her fifth floor flat is not to curb her bouts of loneliness. "I got me a whole heap of friends. I don't need no pony to keep me company". Pat then confessed he primary use for Felicity is to aid her decent down the five flights to ground level when the lifts are out of operation. "I also ride her to the bus stop, tie her up and head into town. The best thing is when I get back to that ol' bus stop, she's always there to ride me on back to the flat".
Mrs Nag’s landlord, John Stern, remains adamant that the pony must go. “Infringing her human rights? Give me a break. I’ve told her she can have one those frame things what’ll help her get in and out of the bath and I’ll even rig her up with one of those mobility scooters. I’m a reasonable guy. I even made sure she had central heating the winter before last. As for the pony, that’s a joke. She’s even applied to World Pony Championship committee to stage next year’s finals in the flat.” JG
