Manilow Method Rocks Youngsters

A new weapon is being backed to force street yobs to move on: Barry Manilow hits blasted out over loud speakers.


Experts claim that the above image of Manilow will be enough alone to discourage youths from congregating on street corners.

The bizarre suggestion by council chiefs came as a row blew up over the use of the Mosquito, a high-pitched deterrent device that only children can here.

Other artists which were considered to help force the juvenile parasites to move on include Cliff Richard and Cilla Black. Des O’Connor was also a candidate although that possibility was deemed “far too cruel” by Local Government Association chiefs.

LGA spokesperson, Simon Stardust said: “Councils use an array of techniques to deter loitering youths. These include talking CCTV cameras and armed lollipop ladies. The so-called ‘Manilow Method’, where tacky, clichéd and dated pop music is played via a sound system is definitely an option we are considering.”    JG
